当サイトは、アジアの大陸文化の影響を受けながら独自のスタイルを築いた日本の伝統建築と20世紀に普及した近代主義の洗礼を受けつつ日本らしさを模索した戦前戦後の日本の近代建築の情報を発信するものです。当サイトによって、その価値や美学を多くの人々に共有してもらい、これらの建築を実際に訪れたいと欲するきっかけになれれば幸いです。

岸田日出刀著の「過去の構成」を最近、古書店より購入してよく観ていますが、古典に対する深い洞察や
近代的な視点で切り撮られた写真に顕われた伝統建築の構成の妙に新鮮な驚きを感じました。
